A great place to begin my travels

The few days in Fiji were a great way to begin the South Pacific journey. Airplane landed at Nadi airport and was on a boat to Waya island shortly after arrival. The '3 hour tour' to the Yasawas islands began by weaving through the Mamanucas islands with a few brief stops along the way. The islands close to Port Denarau, on Vinaka island (one of the main islands) are small and the walk around the island perimeter could not be more than an easy 10 minutes. Islands further out were more significant in size, vegetation and topography.
The Octopus Resort was just beyond the beach with easy access to water and hiking trails. The locals, their village a short walk up the mountain, provide entertainment, hospitality and services for the resort. Minimalist resort but has all the amenities necessary for a beach stop.
Celebrated Good Friday here and beyond food and water no services were provided. I still had snorkeling gear from Thursday so I spent most of the day exploring the reef.
